Christmas
We were lucky this year and got to spend time with both sides of the family. We visited G and G Eastwood first, then went down to G and G Smith's. We had a good time, but Sophie was a little crankers. She didn't want anyone to even look at her. Heaven forbid you try to touch her!! She did enjoy Christmas morning, but she got bored after 2 presents and just wanted to play with her toys. I don't have any pictures of our visit to Utah, because everyone else was taking pictures and Sophie wouldn't let me out of her sight. Hopefully I'll get copies from everyone soon!

Christmas time is here again
Well, Christmas is a week away. I can hardly believe 2007 is almost over! Sophie is getting so big, my baby has disappeared and has been replaced by a kid! She is walking all over the place and starting to mimic what we do and say. Just today we were getting my oil changed and they had a playhouse there. She started opening and shutting the window shutters and so I said "open, shut" and she began saying "shut!" it was so sweet. Time to start watching what we say around her now! She likes to play copycat with us. She folds her arms and waits for us to do the same, then she puts them on her head and so on. She can go on forever with this and it just cracks her up. She is sure she is the funniest thing around.
We are leaving for Idaho on Friday and then on to Utah on Sunday for the Holidays. We are very excited to share Sophie with so many in our families. But we will miss those who can't be with us.
Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday!

A first for us. . .and hopefully a last!
Sophie had a fever Thursday night and it was worse Friday morning, so I took her to the doctor. She was pulling on her ear, but I wasn't that concerned. HAH! She has a double ear infection! Her first one and she had to do it all the way, I guess. We put her on meds because of her temp and she is already starting to feel better, thank heavens.
She has also decided to get almost all the rest of her teeth at the same time. It's fun to tip her upside down and look in her mouth. (I'll have to see if I can get a picture) Phillip found it mildly disgusting because one of them was a little bloody, I just think it's fascinating. And with the ears, the teeth don't seem to be that big of a deal to her, so I suppose we should be grateful for that.
One thing about her being sick is that she actually snuggles with me. She sat with me for over two hours yesterday and didn't move, that just shows how sick she is! She normally won't sit still for five minutes. Silver lining in everything!

Ella Mae
I HAVE A NEW NIECE!!! Ella Mae Culbertson was born on November 6, at 10:32am Florida time. She is 5 lbs 14 oz. and 18 inches long. Just itty-bitty! My mom made it to the hospital with 10 minutes to spare. I haven't seen pictures yet, but I hear she looks like a Smith, instead of a Culbertson like Aspen. As soon as they post pics on Sara's blog, I'll let you know so you can go check them out. This makes 10 great-grandkids for my grandparents (4 boys and 6 girls), and 6 grandkids for my parents (2 boys and 4 girls!) We need more boys!

Playgroups
Sophie and I have entered the world of playgroups. We have been to three different ones this week. I can't believe how grown-up my baby is getting! She had a blast at all three groups. She was the only one who wasn't walking and it didn't slow her down one bit. She played alone and with the other kids, only getting upset when everyone started to clean up. She threw fabulous tantrums every time. I'm glad she likes it. I know how important it is for her to interact with other kids now. Maybe they will rub off one her and she'll start walking! (Yeah, right)
She is such a monkey these days. She isn't napping at all and that means I don't get a nap either! She is just so afraid she is going to miss something fun. She sits in her crib and cries for me. I let her for a while, but when she starts screaming I have to go get her. I hope this is a short phase, I miss my breaks!
Children, can't live with them, can't sell them on ebay.

My big girl!
Welcome to the new era in sharing!
So, I have finally joined the revolution! It's about time, I know. We'll see how well I keep up with it, but I promise to try my best!
